the two days of spring we have in kansas, stuck between 4 inches of snow and 85 degree weather in march, are really beautiful. i am more than blessed to have a job where i’m outside.. one beautiful sunny day with the dogs out on the pond more than makes up for all the mud, snow and shit weather we slog through 5 months out of the year.i think i’m going to start the “MASTER CLEANSE” this saturday. should probably mention that to joshua, seeing as how people are telling me i will be miserable and hallucinating. i don’t know. my bossses do these cleanses all the time, and i think phil could pick my car up and throw it across the park, so it seems to be working for him. watch me drop 20 pounds in like two weeks. HA. then gain it all back, because i love corn syrup and processed cheese products.

APRIL PRINT SALE

As you might’ve heard, on March 17th, some jerk kicked my door in and essentially stole everything with an electrical cord. While I’m not the most technologically advanced girl on the block, it put a significant dent in the number of things I own.

And of course, they stole the Olympus DSLR I’ve been shooting with for my entire photographic life, all my lenses (ow ow ow), and my tripod (and every phone charger in the house, for some reason).

The break-in ended up being the kick in the pants I needed to finally replace my aging tank of a camera, after at least 3 years of talking about upgrading. But in the frenzy of replacing everything else, I pretty much drained my savings.

So in an effort to offset the cost of a whole new setup, I’m going to be offering $20.00 8×10 signed prints! All through the month of April. The x/2010 Limited Edition Print Run has really helped, but a lot of people have e-mailed me asking about prints besides the 2010 Self Portraits. Well, now the entire collection is open season! Anything from my portfolio, Deviantart and this blog!

I’ve been getting a lot of interest in the x/12 2010 self portrait series, so I’ve decided to do a 12 print run of each portrait I take the entire year.

The prints will be 11×14 inches, printed on Kodak Endura paper, lovingly signed, numbered and packed up in a study photo tube mailer, whisked away by that scummy looking mailman of mine to be delivered to your doorstep.

Shipping will be $5.00, unless it’s going international; but I’m capping all international shipping costs at $10. You pay that ten, I’ll cover anything over.

i don’t want to be rude, but christ, i’m tired of people talking about their art. explaining it. dissecting it, filing it in very specific “genres”, giving you deep psycho/sociological reasons why they’re taking the same photo everyone else in their college course is taking.

shut up and just do it. that’s what it’s all about. don’t explain yourself, you’re just ruining it. just do it. people shouldn’t have to be told some things. i look at pictures so i don’t have to read the words.

or maybe i’m just jealous because i couldn’t explain/classify/defend my “work” if you put a gun to my head.

joshua is off playing VIDEO GAMES (do not get me started), so i’ve got a second to dig around to the old wine & bones photos that i just don’t ever seem to get around to . i bought a bottle of the most delicious riesling that my friend was drinking once. i’m surprised i remembered the name. ugh, cheap wine.

i might have mentioned how irritable i’ve been since quitting cigarettes. but what i mourn for the most is the loss of my favorite prop. jesus christ, cigarettes are so photogenic. but even the “prop” cigarette i “smoked” for these tasted pretty gross. it’s still an unsatisfied itch (and will stay that way–i broke and bought a pack last sunday, but you’ll see the remains of it in this here ashtray..), but i know i’m better off without them.

pity.
